With crisp, cool days just around the corner, we love that it’s almost autumn in central Ohio. September is the perfect month to ready your home—and your garden—for the festive season ahead. Here’s our list of ways to make the most of your yard this fall with Strader’s!

While many gardeners wait until fall to plant, back-to-school season is a busy time for many across central Ohio. The good news is that you don’t have to wait until September or October to do your fall planting—in fact, August is the perfect time to tackle those projects around the yard that you may have put off over the summer, from planting to mulching and even repotting houseplants!

Aptly named the lazy days of summer, July is a time to relax, unwind, and enjoy the hard work you’ve put into your garden this year. Spring planting is a distant memory and the fall harvest has yet to come, so now’s the time to enjoy the long days, warm summer nights, and slow down this summer.

To honor the local pollinators in your garden, we highly recommend that you add Ohio native plants to your landscape so that vital pollinators like bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, and other insects and small mammals can thrive—and make your garden thrive as well!
