ABOUT STRADER’S GARDEN CENTERS

Providing the most beautiful plants in Central Ohio since 1951.

All of our plants are grown by us in our Ohio-based greenhouses and nurseries.

Strader's Garden Center History

A bit about our history.

Since 1951, Jack and Ruth Strader founded Strader’s Garden Center with just one small garden store on King Avenue. Today, the seed that was planted continues to flourish as Strader’s has branched out many times. Throughout the years, the company expanded and now includes six retail locations and three wholesale divisions in the heart of Ohio.

During peak season, Strader's is proud to support the community by employing over 300 individuals all over Central Ohio

Strader’s operates as a family business, as each of the couple’s four children played a role in the company’s growth. Many team members have been with the company for a substantial portion of their careers, which is a testimony to the business’s success, longevity, and culture.

With its roots firmly planted in Ohio, Strader’s specializes in gardening and landscaping supplies, lawn care, mulches, fountains, pond supplies, lawnmowers, trees, flowers and much more. Annuals, perennials, vegetables, and herbs are grown in Strader’s own greenhouses located throughout the State.
